The Andhra Pradesh Government is sharpening focus on farm mechanisation to increase output
State Minister for Agriculture Kanna Laxmi Narayana, said the State Government had taken up an action plan involving an investment of Rs. 2,500 crore for farm mechanisation last year. “This year, we will initiate smaller programmes at the district level,” the Minister said.
He inaugurated a four-day Agritex programme here today, being organised by the Hyderabad International Trade Expositions Ltd. It will be bringing together the farming community, agriculture specialists and service providers through an agricultural direction and trade fair programme.
The event is expected to cover one lakh farmers during the course of the four days. It will also feature exhibition and sale of various farming needs and equipment, including seeds and tractors.
“It has over 150 exhibitors, including manufacturers of seeds, pesticides and fertilisers,” Sambit Mund, Head Trade Fair Division of HITEX, said.
