Agritex India 2017, a three-day Industry event is running now at Hitex Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, Hitex Grounds in Madhapur. This is the fifth Edition of the trade fair, organised by Kenes Exhibitions in association with the State Government of Telangana. This Exhibition-Conference aims to sustain and augment agriculture, dairy and food processing in Telangana, by bringing together, farming community, agri- and dairy, horticulture, food and aqua specialists on a single platform. It showcases new trends and developments in the agriculture space with special focus on innovation and start-ups.
The conference has enlisted top-notch speakers from across industry, research institutions, universities and from the UK and Italy to deliberate on different topics. According to Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner in Hyderabad, the UK is a pioneer in new approaches to agriculture. Science and big data are been changing the face of agriculture. Several UK firms have invested in the sector and a business delegation, as well as a total of 13 companies from the UK, involved in dairy, aquaculture, seeds and food processing, are participating in the conference. They will share their best practices and innovations. ”The companies will explore collaboration and business opportunities,” Fleming said.
The event boasts over 100 exhibitors, with companies from UK, Italy, Cyprus and Japan, all participating in the three-day Agritex-2017 and showcasing new trends and developments in the agriculture arena with special focus on Innovation and start-up pavilion. 10,000-12,000 visitors are expected to attend the event according to the manager of Kenes Exhibitions, organizer of this major Agriculture event in India.
Innovative farm practices, new farming opportunities, irrigation management, animal productivity, food processing and other important topics will be covered at the 5th Edition of Agritex in India. Importance of foreign direct investments in the agriculture industry, infrastructure bottlenecks and improving fish production, among other subjects, will also be discussed by the stakeholders.
The opening ceremony speakers are Chief Guest: Honorable Minister for Agriculture, followed by Commissioner of Agriculture, Dr. Jagan Mohan and General Director Govt of India, Mrs. Usha Rani. There are also special sessions during the meeting on latest developments in subjects such as seed development and quality, integrated pest and disease management, seed processing, post-harvest technology and seed certification. The conference will have special sessions on supply chain management, logistics and marketing, farm mechanization and water conservation, agri-financing and crop insurance, in addition to policies for seed business.
